Workshop for legal staff of the Court of BiH

Today, representatives of the Mechanism’s Chambers Legal Support Section held a workshop for legal staff at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The objective of the workshop was to familiarize the participants with the Mechanism’s Case Law Database and to share with them the Mechanism’s best practices in providing legal support to judges adjudicating cases of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

The event was hosted by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is part of the Mechanism’s efforts to assist national jurisdictions in adjudicating crimes committed during the conflict in the former Yugoslavia.

The International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism) was established by UN Security Council Resolution 1966 (2010) to complete the remaining work of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia after the completion of their respective mandates. The Mechanism has two branches, one in Arusha, Tanzania, and one in The Hague, Netherlands.
