Mechanism Prosecutor Serge Brammertz will be in Sarajevo from 22 to 24 May 2018, as part of preparations for his regular biannual report to the UN Security Council (UNSC).

The Prosecutor will meet with Acting Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić to discuss war crimes processing in BiH. He will meet with missing persons authorities, law enforcement agencies and international partners to discuss closer cooperation in search for missing persons. Prosecutor Brammertz will meet with local civil society actors to discuss their efforts promoting reconciliation in BiH and the region.  The Prosecutor will also meet members of the diplomatic community.

It is expected that Prosecutor Brammertz will present his next report to the UNSC in early June.

The International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (Mechanism) was established by UN Security Council Resolution 1966 (2010) to complete the remaining work of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia after the completion of their respective mandates. The Mechanism has two branches, one in Arusha, Tanzania, and one in The Hague, Netherlands.
